What operating systems will Property
Manager work on?
Property Manager is designed to work on
Windows 98, ME, NT, 2000, XP & Vista.
I am interested in buying Property Manager. Is it a one off cost or do I have to pay every year?
When you purchase Property Manager it is a one off cost.
Beyond the first year, there is an optional annual support contract that you may purchase that entitles you to support and free upgrades. This costs £99.99 per annum.
Does Property Manager support any currency?
When Property Manager is installed, it automatically displays the default currency of your PC. So in the UK, the screens show £, in the US $, etc.
How do I unlock
Property Manager?
When you purchase Property Manager, you
will be given a registration code to unlock the software. Once
the code has been entered, all your trial data will be available.
Can Property Manager be networked?
Yes, Property Manager can be networked so that multiple users may simultaneously use the system. Simply install Property Manager on each PC, decide which PC is to hold the main database and then connect the other PC’s through the Property Manager Administration menu to the main database.
How do I secure Property Manager?
From the Property
Manager menu bar, select the Administration Menu. Click
on the 'Set Database Password' option. Enter the new password,
that you wish to be entered each time you start Property Manager.
Once confirmed, the password will be set.
How do I delete a Property from
Property Manager?
Within the
'Administration Menu', select 'Delete Property from Property
Manager'. Select the property you wish to remove. Note
that you may leave or remove the transaction history.
How do I export reports to
Microsoft Excel or Microsoft Word?
To export reports to
Excel, generate the report you require and click on the
button on the menu bar.
Excel will open and the report will automatically be copied over.
To export the report to Word, simply click on the
button.
How do I generate a summary report
of all events coming due over the next 30 days (including overdue
and upcoming rent, leases due to expire, maintenance jobs coming
due, etc)?
Click on the Reminder
Report button , to generate the
latest Reminder Summary Report.
How do I customise Property
Manager so that it meets my needs?
If you wish to
generate specific reports (e.g. tell me how much I spent on roof
maintenance last year), you may customise any of the expense types,
supplier or insurance types, to allow for this type of detailed
reporting. Customise the drop down lists, through the
'Administration Menu'.
How do I backup Property Manager?
Backup your Property
Manager data, from within the Administration Menu, by selecting the
Backup option, followed by full or partial backup. The backed
up file is called "PropManBackup.mdb and is stored in C:\.
Note: We suggest you perform a total computer backup through a
third party backup program to tape.
Why are some of the screens and
report details highlighted in different colours?
Property Manager
brings important information to your attention through the use of
colours. For example, unpaid rent would be highlighted in red
on a rent report or tenants account statement.
What do the different colours
mean?
Dates are highlighted
in different colours as follows:
Yellow = event is due
in less than 30 days (e.g. rent due in less than 30 days)
Green = all OK (e.g.
rent has been received, insurance policy active, maintenance job
completed)
Red = alert (overdue
rent, tenancy agreement or insurance policy due to end in less than
30 days or maintenance job overdue)
Black =
insurance policy or tenancy agreement has expired
What does the 'Compact and Repair
Database' option do?
This feature optimises
Property Manager to ensure that any unused space (eg from deleted
records) is freed up and removed from the database. If you are
using Property Manager every day, we suggest you run this option
once every couple of weeks (it only takes a few seconds to run). |
